Uzbekistan 2019 New Chinese enterprises 531
Data released by Uzbekistan's National Statistical Commission on the 13th showed that as of the end of 2019, there were 1,652 Chinese-funded enterprises operating in Ukraine, an increase of 531 over 2018, an increase of nearly 47.4%.
The data shows that the number of Chinese-funded enterprises operating in Ukraine is second only to Russian companies, covering oil and gas exploration, pipeline transportation, infrastructure, telecommunications, textiles, chemicals, logistics and agriculture.
Ann Sharapov, associate professor at the Tashkent National Oriental Institute in Uzbekistan, said that in recent years, investment partners from China have played an important role in Uzbekistan's economic reform and development, and Uzbekistan views China as a trusted partner.
Driven by the co-construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the scale of bilateral trade between China and Ukraine has continued to expand in recent years, and trade volume has continued to rise. According to Chinese customs data, in 2018, the bilateral trade volume between China and Ukraine reached US $ 6.26 billion, a year-on-year increase of 48.4%. At present, China is Ukraine's largest trading partner, the largest source of imports and the largest export destination.
