US resumes tariffs on certain steel products from China
The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced on August 28 that a total of 8 batches of exclusion lists were added to the extension of the validity period of the US$300 billion Chinese products.
The extended list this time involved 87 products of 67 tax codes. The products under 14 tax codes and some products under 53 tax codes will be extended to December 31, 2020.
There are 128 products under 81 tax codes which the validity period hasn't been extended. These 128 products will resume 7.5% tariffs from September 1. The steel products involved are under HS codes 7217.20.3000, 7228.10.0010, 7304.41.6045, 8481.90.3000, 8302.42.3065, and 8481.90.3000.
